Today, we began a new teaching series in Nehemiah 1. When God moves in the world, especially to restore his people, he doesn’t begin with blueprints, he begins with burden. Nehemiah hears that Jerusalem is in “great trouble and shame,” and instead of rushing into strategy he weeps and prays. He shows us that a holy burden should lead to reverence, repentance, and requests before action. In what ways has God burdened you? Begin with prayer before you ever move to action. We hope this message encourages and challenges you. Thanks for listening!
